The CU500MRD is a manual, variable speed 11kW, 72mm spindle bore, 500mm swing over bed lathe offered by EIM-Trade and manufactured in Bulgaria by ZMM Bulgaria Holding - a group of companies with more than 70 years of experience in lathe production.The CU500MRD variable speed lathes have many advantages like a heavy rigid grey iron bed to minimize vibrations (weighing 3000kg for DBC 2000mm), precisely shaped ways, a built-in removable gap for processing of workpieces with up to 760mm diameter, rapid traverse in both axes with a 0.55kW motor, infinitely variable speed headstock in three subranges (25-100, 100-400, 500-200 RPM) guaranteeing that a constant speed to diameter ratio can be easily kept, a precisely balanced spindle allowing cam lock and direct mounting of 3-jaw self-centered and 4-jaw independent chucks or flange mounted face plates; the spindle has high quality bearings made by leading German and Japanese manufacturers like SKF, FAG and NSK. The ergonomically designed gearbox is capable of threading 64 metric, imperial, modular and diameter threads. The CU500MRD comes in six DBCs ranging from 1000 to 5000 mm and can be custom-ordered with a large variety of additional equipment like big steady rests from 140 to 280mm and 15 to 160mm small steady rests, 500mm faceplate, 500mm 4-jaw independent chuck, 315mm 3-jaw self-centering chuck, 20mm drill chuck, a thread dial, a one-position trailing stop, an M5 live center, a +10 degree taper turning attachment, a drive plate and full set of lathe dogs from 20 to 100mm.
